Band Origin
Buffalo Monroe is a jazz-funk-fusion band from Boston that formed in 2020. The founding members of the band are multi-instrumentalists Rachel and Matt Courtney, also known as Bella and Bo Monroe. The duo started professionally recording their music in 2022 with Gregg Bissonette and Willie Waldman. Their debut album Buffalo Monroe Meets Willie Waldman was on the radio charts for 15 weeks in 2024 and featured a star-studded cast of engineers, producers, and performers including Maestro Ron Carter.
In 2025 the band collaborated with Stephen Perkins, John Molo, Reeves Gabrels, Dana Colley, Tim Kobza, and Tommy D Daugherty. Their new single, The Weather Man, is out now and more new music is on the way!

Ron Carter is among the most original, prolific, and influential bassists in jazz and the world of music. He has recorded over 2200 albums, and has a Guinness world record to prove it!From 1963 to 1968, he was a member of the acclaimed Miles Davis Quintet. Over his 60 year career, he has recorded with so many of the greats: Roberta Flack, B.B. Tommy D Daugherty
As a house engineer for Death Row Records, multi-platinum engineer Tommy D recorded and mixed classic albums with Dr. Dre (Andre Young), Snoop Dogg (Calvin Broadus Jr.), and 2Pac (Tupac Shakur). Before that, he worked with Prince and George Clinton. This former blue-collar Iowan fell upon the L.A. rap world at the turn of the millennium and established himself as an unflappable go-to architect of what would become known as "gangsta rap." Shortly before his untimely demise, Tupac finished his classic The Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory album with Tommy D, who had become known as the only engineer the mercurial artist would work with. Maybe it's because he's one of the nicest guys in the business.

Gregg Bissonette

Stephen Perkins
Stephen Perkins is an American musician and songwriter. A drummer and percussionist, he has played with Jane's Addiction, Porno for Pyros, Banyan, Infectious Grooves, Methods of Mayhem, and Hellride. His style blends rock, jazz, swing, African, Indian and Latin drumming styles together. In addition to this amazing track record of work, Perkins helped develop a wearable percussive instrument called a GoJo Bag which disabled people could use when they were unable to play a drum.

Reeves Gabrels
Reeves Gabrels has the unusual distinction of meeting David Bowie and forming a band with him – Tin Machine in 1989. He went on to work with Bowie in his solo career, has a successful solo career of his own with his band Reeves Gabrels and His Imaginary Friends, and is currently the lead guitar player in The Cure.
As a guitarist, Gabrels is recognized for his virtuosity and versatility, and been praised for his ability to "explore sonic extremes with a great, adaptive intuition for what each song needs most." He has been characterized as "one of the most daring rock-guitar improvisers since Jimi Hendrix".
Gabrels was with Bowie during an era that is arguably his heaviest music including the tour and collaboration with Nine Inch Nails. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in March 2019 as a member of the Cure.

Dana Colley
In 1989, Colley co-founded Morphine with front-man Mark Sandman of Boston-based Treat Her Right. The two were joined by drummer Jerome Deupree and quickly garnered a local following. Their debut album, 1992's Good, was picked up by the Rykodisc label in 1993, and the band embarked on extensive, successful touring. Colley's main instrument with the band was baritone sax, but he occasionally sang backing vocals, played percussion or other saxes (tenor, bass or soprano).
Colley and Deupree began playing with New Orleans transplant Jeremy Lyons as Members of Morphine in 2009. This trio performs classic Morphine songs alongside of new material, and played the ten-year anniversary of Sandman's death at the festival at which it occurred, the Nel Nome Del Rock Festival in Palestrina, Italy, on July 3, 2009. As of 2014, the trio renamed themselves Vapors of Morphine and regularly performs shows in Boston and New Orleans.
Colley has also made guest appearances with Primus (on live versions of the song "Those Damned Blue-Collar Tweekers"), and Lilium, a project from Pascal Humbert of 16 Horsepower and Woven Hand. He also played saxophone and bass clarinet on Dan Brenner's 2011 CD Little Dark Angel, produced by Jay Newland. In 2012 he played in Italy with the Italian band Rudy and the M.O.B. made by the Italian singer Rudy Marra.
